MIDI Driver Failure in Windows 7 / Cubase 5.5.2 with TI OS 4.1.1.05

Hey everyone,

After updating my TI Desktop (original) to the latest OS, it stopped working as a VST inside of Cubase 5.5.2. I am running the 64 bit version of Windows 7, and the 32 bit version of Cubase. This is because most of my plugins just aren't there yet.

Some of us are familiar with the error:
The MIDI driver failed to load or is not installed
This can be caused by too many USB devices connected, please disconnect some devices or try reinstalling the Virus TI software.

Some important notes:

- I have run this computer setup since earlier this year using previous TI versions, up to 4.0.5. This never happened before, only just now with the 4.1.1.05 update.
- I have tried all kinds of uninstalls and re-installs of the TI OS, including doing a post-uninstall cleaning of my registry of all things related to the TI that I can locate.
- I have tried (at the request of Access' tech support) to roll back to the 4.0.5 software, knowing that it worked. Now it does not any longer. I get the same MIDI driver error.
- I don't think it's really the "too many devices" problem, as I only have my Cubase "blue key" and my iLok connected to this machine alongside the Virus.
- MIDI Port Setup in Cubase (under "Device Setup") shows four TI related entries, all under DirectMusic Devices: Virus TI MIDI and Virus TI Synth, both In and Out each. Cubase shows the 2 In ports as Active and the 2 Out ports as Inactive. There is no way to change this in that window.
- I have also tried the "quick fix", in that you load the Virus as a VSTi prior to opening or starting a new project. That actually did work once or twice, but that has stopped as well.
- Do note that Virus Control Center sees the unit just fine. It sees my synth and can update it just fine.
- I do not have any other DAW on here for me to try out either, so I can't use that as a test.

I've been going back and forth on this with Access tech support already, just seeing if anyone has an answer or has shared such issues of this nature.

Custom Built Computer is:

- Intel motherboard and chipset
- Windows 7 64 Bit
- Tascam FW-1082
- SSL Duende PCIe
- TC Electronic Powercore Mk2
- Universal Audio UAD-1 PCI
- Virus TI Version 1 Desktop

make your sure which windows recognized your virus and then create an empty project then see it works or no...
if with empty project didn't work reinstall software suite again...
and my suggestion is after reinstall disable the midi ports in cubase device panel which they aren't necessary to use...
