Editing User Arps in embedded Multi's?

Is there any way to do it? I have some multi's (1-16) where I want to edit the user arp to make it better fit my patterns. But since we can't edit multi's in Virus Control, the only work around I can think of is sending the edit buffer via sysex to the computer, then resend it as a Single, edit the arp, then select the single in the multi. Correct? Is there an easier way?

If its a new preset - make it in VC, save it on your virus, pick it in multi mode.

If it is a preset you already have in multi mode - when selecting store in multi mode, select 'store single menu' as destination (note you will have to be have part that you want to save selected)- store it as you would any other single. Open it in VC, edit, save, then select in the multi again.
