Backing up the RAM banks

Hi, I have a Snow and am starting to create my own sounds which I am saving to the RAM banks, I have a question: Is there any way for me to back up the RAM banks? ie: once I have filled them with my own sounds can I save the RAM banks and create my own 'sound set' ?

I see the way to save a sound to a preset in the RAM banks but I don't see anywhere how to save the whole RAM bank?

Reasons for wanting to do this are:

To transport my sounds from one virus to another if needed.

Safety - in case something happens to my RAM bank, battery or Virus

So I can create multiple sound sets based in filling the RAM banks in different ways (creating a library of RAM bank sound sets). Many Thanks!

If you only want "single" banks, i.e. to create a 128 patches soundset, you can do it via the virus control plugin. Create an empty .mid file in your "my patches" folder, and simply open it up in the VC, dragging your desired patches into the new file

Hi, I am having no luck in working out how to do this, could somebody please explain how I back up my Virus using control center? I only see how to save individual sounds to the RAM banks, not a way to either back up the complete RAM banks or the complete Virus? Many Thanks

There is a tab in VCC labelled "backup and restore" - It can backup the whole device or install an old backup in it; be sure you're not misunderstanding "virus control center" with the "virus control" plugin. I can make a step-by-step for it tomorrow.

Thanks for pointing that out, I was looking in the plugin control center but then I opened up the one in applications and 'backup and restore' was grayed out, I hit OK anyway and the control center just crashed. I tried it again and it crashed again so I think maybe that is not the most stable application. Maybe I am best to avoid it and just create my own 128 sound preset banks instead. Many Thanks Simon

Try to give a name to your device (it's in the options). I've seen it has solved the problem often on this forum.
