Virus TI & Mac Pro midi communication problem

Hi

My virus just stops emitting sound if i don't use if for more than a minute once i've switched it on!!
And also when i'm using the virus control it won't communicate with the virus itself.

I have no idea why and it has been doing this for a while.
I'm using Logic 8, a Mac Pro and a fireface 800.

I've also got a sync problem when it does work but everyone seems to have this right?

Can anyone help us out?

Cheers

Funny enough, I've been getting it for the last couple of days on my Mac Pro (2008) since upgrading my TI1 Desktop to OS4 - using Logic 8.02, 10.5.8. If I open a blank template and load the VC, I get to play about 3-4 notes on my midi controller and then that's it. No more sound. I end up closing Logic and power cycling the Virus to get anywhere.

The TI screen shows on the top right the left arrow which is flashing constantly and if I go into the VC and hit any midi keys, the graphical bar moves as per normal.

Getting quite annoyed so I might downgrade to the previous version just to see how it goes.

yeah i have the same 2008 mac pro.
I've been having the problem ever since i got the virus, even on a PPC mac.

Its pretty annoying as it makes the Virus unusable as it constantly stops working and it randomly stresses out with a really high squeaking sound then it quits logic!

I've updated the new OS for it and i've only got a midi keyboard and motu express 128 connected up.

if it does that all the time and with different computers, i wouldn't rule out a hardware problem. you should contact access support, they can refer you to a service center if needed.

So i am now using a shorter USB cable and that has fixed the communication problem.

Still have bad latency though...
