Mac mouse trouble with Virus Control

So I've finally got Virus Control up and working on my Mac Mini, enabling me to audition patches. Now I'm at the point that I'd like to choose a few from RAM 1-8 and keep them all in the same library. But I'm having some mouse trouble, it seems.

I have a Mac mouse (white with tiny gray trackball, model A1152) and I can select patches from the libraries by clicking as expected. I cannot adjust parameters as I can on much other software by clicking a virtual knob and dragging, as doing this only drags the *entire* Virus Control window around my screen. (Fortunately I can adjust them by scrolling the trackball.)

Unfortunately, this means that I cannot drag a patch from a spot in one library to another, as I see should be possible from the tutorials. Trying to move a patch only moves the entire VC window.

Am I missing something? Thanks for any help!

This looks like a setting of your DAW (or a limitation?). Did you try selecting patches, and copy/pasting them using keyboard shortcuts?

there are gestures (in OSX) which allow dragging of an entire window. maybe you accidentally trigger it.

Yes, tried this too, didn't work. You may be right about the DAW (GarageBand) ... I've emailed Access about it as well.

That could be, I'll do a search for it, though I've never had this problem before. I'm essentially doing the same thing I always do when I want to select a particular element from a page.

i see what you mean. virus control is not intended to behave like this. garage band is not a supported host, but we'll have a look into it.
best, marc

Are there seperate x64 & x86 AU's? I have had some trouble with the VC UI when using the wrong plugin.

I'm worried this might be the root of the problem. Let me know what you find out -- thanks for checking.
