Cubase 6 VST Instruments Menu - What is this X Symbol?

Hello folks,

In Cubase 6, when adding the Virus TI VSTi to the Instrument Rack, I find two entries in the menu, one with an X symbol and another without.

Like this:

Please, what is this X symbol supposed to mean, and why are there two entries in the menu, one with an X symbol and another without?

Thank you very much for your help,
soulianis

That X means external instrument. You must have set this up at one point for this to show up as it isn't be default. The /// is VST3.

Actually i means that it's an VST3 instrument with external hardware. Everything's fine :)

The Icon means:

Virus TI and Virus TI Snow are VST3 Plugins (Icons are for VST3 plugs only), connected to eXternal hardware. For more information read the VST3 SDK Documentation.

Ok, so the "Virus TI" entry marked with X is the VST3 plugin, while the one without the X is the VST 2 plugin, right?

Thank you very much for clarifying this.

Best,
